See Barack and Michelle Obama On Their First Date

It's a love story for the ages—Barack and Michelle Obama.

And now you can get a look at what their first date may have been like in the new movie Southside With You.

The first trailer for the film, released today just in time for this weekend's White House Correspondents' Dinner, shows the future First Couple getting together for a day in Chicago in 1989 after meeting at the law firm where they both worked.

As Michelle (Tika Sumpter) gets ready for their meet-up, she insists it's not actually a date. However, her mother says, "You're going to an awful lot of trouble for another smooth talking brother."

A cigarette-smoking Barack (Parker Sawyers) picks Michelle up in a broken down car that has holes in the floorboard. "You're late," Michelle says.

"I was hoping you wouldn't notice," future POTUS says.

"I expected it," Michelle shoots back. "You were late for your first day of work."

How'd she know that? Michelle explains, "I'm your advisor, I'm supposed notice."

Ouch!

Barack had initially told Michelle he was taking her to a community event, but then suggested they first go to an art center and grab a bite to eat.

"This is not a date," Michelle insists once again.

When they finally arrive to the community event, Barack impresses her with an inspirational speech before a group of activists.

The chemistry between the two is real. Michelle talks about wanting to make difference in the world while Barack talks about writing books or "holding a position of influence in civil rights."

When Michelle suggests "politics," Barack says, "Maybe."

See some more of their date in the trailer above—the Dumbo joke is just too adorable!
